Thyme oil is one of the strongest essential oils. This natural antibiotic is known in particular because of:
- strong antiseptic and antiviral properties - expectorant action
- analgesic and sedative effects
- soothing properties
Inhalation, diffusion, or maybe a rinse?
Running nose, inflammation of the bronchi or larynx? Inhalation of thyme oil will help fight the infection and will provide quick relief for breathing problems. Thyme oil is also well absorbed by diffusion - you can do it in the fireplace or add a few drops to the air humidifier. With cold and cough, it is worth considering adding tea oil or preparing a natural syrup - thyme makes it easier to cough up and has an antibacterial effect. For throat and angina inflammation the best will be a rinse - just a few drops of the oil diluted in 1/2 liter of boiling water.
Bath in thyme oil for pain and stress
Thyme oil can be used as a natural painkiller. In particular, it is recommended for joint pains and, due to its diastolic properties, for abdominal pain. A hot bath enriched with a few drops of essential oil not only brings relief, but also relaxes and calms you down.
Thyme oil as a cosmetic
Thyme oil is a natural antioxidant - it acts on the skin disinfectant, destroys bacteria and cleanses. It helps to get rid of acne and soothes irritation and also accelerates wound healing. Easy to prepare tonic from thyme heals inflammation, tightens pores and matts the complexion. Thanks to the sedative properties thyme oil is also great as a massage oil (as an addition to the base oil, eg argan oil, coconut oil).
