PEPPERMINT Essential Oil Properties
Mint oil is one of the oils most commonly used in Europe. Its most famous properties are:
- alleviation of stomach and intestinal discomfort
- relieving persistent headaches
- soothing and beneficial effect on airway patency - anti-inflammatory and expectorant effect
Peppermint essential oil for nausea, indigestion and colic
A refreshing mint scent used in the form of aromatherapy can help with digestive problems. A few drops of the oil in the humidifier or fireplace will make the gently energized body digest faster, eliminating nausea and abdominal pain. A drop of the oil can also be added to the tea to achieve a similar effect.
A natural way to relieve headaches
Mint oil mixed with eucalyptus and a tablespoon of essential oil (eg olive oil) is an excellent recipe for migraines. The mixture is perfect to massage gently in the temples, so you can feel the relief immediately. Menthol, which is the main component of the oil, acts on the cold receptors, making the pain more tolerable.
Mint steam bath face
If you have oily skin, acne or a tendency for pimples and clogging of the pores, try inhalation with the addition of peppermint essential oil. Add a few drops of the oil to a bowl of hot water, then lean over the bowl and cover the head with a towel. A dozen or so minutes of inhalation 1-2 times a week effectively cleanses the complexion and unblocks the pores.
Precautions
The oil should not be applied directly to the skin without dilution. In addition, excessive use of peppermint oil can cause sleep disturbance.
